Physical activity in the development of students' self-esteem Uta college students

The main objective of the present research was to determine the relationship between physical activity and self-esteem of the students of the Pedagogy of Physical Activity and Sports career, at the Technical University of Ambato, for which a quantitative methodology was used, under a non-experimental work design, descriptive-transversal cut, and a bibliographic-documentary research modality. The instruments in charge of collecting the information were in charge of the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ), endorsed by the WHO which consists of seven items, and the Self-Esteem Measurement Questionnaire made up of 40 items, where these questions were directed to collect data referring to physical activity and self-esteem of those evaluated. The selection of the participants was conducted by means of a probability sampling by volunteers (322 students), who filled out the online survey while it was active. The main results show that there are no students with a low level of self-esteem, however, the medium, good, and elevated levels are predominant over the previous one, and in the same way, the predominant physical activities adhere to low physical activity and remain sitting on higher intensity physical activities. In conclusion, the proposed working hypothesis was verified: Physical activity does affect the selfesteem of the students of the Physical Activity and Sports Pedagogy career.

Emotions and academic performance in upper basic students

Introduction: The research focused on 139 eighth- and ninth-year students of upper basic education in a public artistic-musical institution in the province of Cotopaxi - Ecuador. Objective: determine the correlation between academic performance and the dimensions of emotional intelligence. Methodology: a quantitative, non-experimental, cross-sectional investigation was carried out. For academic performance, we worked with the averages reached by students in the subjects of Language and Literature and Musical Language, while for the dimensions of emotional intelligence, the TMMS-24 test was applied, whose data was analyzed in the JASP software. Team. Results: at a general level, the results of the academic performance of the two subjects indicate a positive correlation with all the dimensions of emotional intelligence. Specifically, in Language and Literature, a considerable and directly proportional positive correlation was found between academic performance and attention to emotions (rs = 0.515; p<0.05), as well as with emotional repair (rs = 0.736; p<0.05), while with emotional clarity, the correlation was medium positive (rs = 0.134; p<0.05). In the Musical Language subject, a very strong positive correlation was found between academic performance with attention to emotions (rs = 0.796; p<0.05), while the correlation is perfect positive with emotional repair (rs = 0.948; p<0.05), and a mean positive correlation (rs = 0.486; p<0.05) with the dimension of emotional clarity. It can be concluded that students who take literary and musical subjects, as in the case of the analyzed population, reflect a positive correlation with the dimensions of emotional intelligence, that is, students who present higher academic performance also have greater control in each one of the dimensions of their emotions. Conclusions: it is suggested that more in-depth investigations be carried out on students with the profile considered in this investigation.

Physical activity in the development of students' self-esteem Uta college students

Introduction: This study examines the influence of literacy and writing skills (lectoescritura) on the teaching and learning process of children in General Basic Education. Literacy and writing skills emerge as a central competency that goes beyond textual decoding. Its role extends beyond conveying information, paving the way for deep comprehension, personal expression, and cognitive development. In this article, we delve into the relationship between literacy and writing skills and the teaching-learning process in children of General Basic Education. Through methodological analysis, results, and discussion, we explore how these skills impact knowledge acquisition and effective interaction with information in an ever-evolving educational environment. Objectives: To identify literacy and writing skill issues and their incidence in the teaching-learning process of general basic education. Methodology: A mixed research approach was employed, combining quantitative and qualitative methods to achieve a comprehensive understanding. A group of 650 students was analyzed, revealing deficiencies in reading and writing due to limited reading habits and incomplete utilization of appropriate materials and methods in the teaching-learning process. Surveys with educators highlighted the need for successful pedagogical strategies, such as adapting to individual learning styles and integrating literacy and writing skills across various curriculum areas. Results: The study's results revealed that limited reading habits and the absence of suitable methods and materials contribute to deficiencies in literacy and writing skills among General Basic Education students. Educators underscored the need for adaptive pedagogical approaches and the integration of literacy and writing skills throughout the curriculum to address these challenges and enhance a more effective teaching-learning process. These findings underscore the importance of approaching literacy and writing skills from multiple angles to achieve holistic development in students. Challenges such as resource shortages and the need for ongoing training were identified. Technology showed promise, but the importance of balancing its use with traditional approaches was emphasized. Conclusions: This study highlights the critical importance of literacy and writing skills in General Basic Education. Results emphasize addressing limited reading habits and inadequate pedagogical methods. Educator suggestions underscore curriculum adaptation and integration as key solutions. Tackling these issues requires a collaborative approach that fosters reading habits, empowers educators, and provides more effective and equitable education. The study underscores literacy and writing skills as essential foundations in General Basic Education. Findings reveal the need to overcome challenges in reading habits and educational methodology. A strong education in literacy and writing not only enhances communication skills but also empowers students for deeper and more meaningful learning. General Study Area: Teaching-Learning Process.
